What is Sumsub ID

This article is about what Sumsub ID is, why you might use it when you sign up for a new app, its price, how it stores, shares, and reuses your verified documents, and why an app can still reject your verification.

Sumsub ID stores your verified identity documents in one secure account so you can reuse them instantly across 4000 services - no re-uploading your passport, no repeating the same steps.

Why use Sumsub ID

Every time you sign up for a new financial app, exchange, or wallet, you are asked to prove your identity. Sumsub ID lets you do that work once and reuse it.

Faster sign-ups. Verify in seconds with a quick face scan instead of uploading documents from scratch.

You stay in control. You choose which documents to share and with whom. Nothing is shared without your permission.

One account, many apps. Your Sumsub ID works across thousands of apps that use Sumsub for verification.

Create and reuse your Sumsub ID for free

Storing your identity documents in Sumsub ID and using them for faster verifications is free of charge. You can create an account, store your documents, and reuse them at any of the 4,000+ partner services that accept Sumsub ID at no charge.

How it works

  1. You create a Sumsub ID account and verify your identity (upload a document and complete a face scan).

  2. Your verified documents are saved in your Sumsub ID account at id.sumsub.com.

  3. The next time an app asks you to verify, you can sign in to your Sumsub ID, select the documents you want to share, and complete a quick face scan to confirm it is you.

  4. The app still runs its own checks on the shared documents — Sumsub ID skips the upload step, not the compliance checks.

A verified Sumsub ID doesn't guarantee every app will accept your verification. Each app decides which documents it accepts, which regions it supports, and what requirements to apply. If an app rejects your verification, it is because of that app's specific rules, not a problem with your Sumsub ID account.

If a specific app rejects you, contact that app's support team.
