How to pass video identification

This article is about video identification: why you may be asked to pass it, what you need to prepare before the call, how the call with the identification expert goes, and when you get the result.

You may be required to pass verification in a live video interview with an identification expert (Video Identification).

Sumsub does not specify which documents, regions, and data are acceptable, or any other verification conditions. The companies you verify for determine these based on local regulations and internal policies.

Video identification requirements

  • Required documents such as a passport, driving license, ID card, or a residence permit (depending on the client's requirements)

  • Stable internet connection

  • Browser and operating system updated to the latest versions

  • Permission for the browser/app to access your camera and microphone

Video identification steps

  1. Introduction and camera check

    • Follow instructions and click Continue.

    • Allow camera access and ensure it works.

    • Click Start call.

  2. Connect to the Expert

    • Wait for the expert to connect.

    • Follow the expert’s instructions.

  3. Verification process

    • Provide documents.

    • Take a selfie and answer the identification expert's questions.

    • Finish the call when done.

  4. Results

    • Wait a few minutes while verification is processed.

    • View results on your screen.
